Extend your packaging comparison
A Packaging Cost Engineering Report separates known cost drivers from opportunities that still need pricing, engineering or validation. It builds on Compare My Packaging and your existing DBS specification.

Dimensions; board grade/caliper/flute; carton style; dieline efficiency; material utilization; sheet nesting; excess material; box-to-product fit.
Colors; print method; ink coverage; coatings; lamination; foil; embossing/debossing; spot UV; windowing; specialty finishes; hand assembly.
Quantity; setup allocation; tooling; plates; combination runs; repeat orders; digital versus offset/flexo; domestic and overseas production.
Finished-box pack-out; units/case; cases/pallet; pallet utilization; dimensional efficiency; freight mode; domestic/international freight; air/ocean; DDP inclusions; final delivered cost.
Quantity; consumption; order frequency; storage; scheduled releases; safety stock; carrying risk; obsolescence and change risk.
Current invoice · Existing quote · Existing packaging · Dieline · Specifications · Historical DBS orders · Competing supplier quote · Freight invoice · Customer consumption pattern. A physical box and incomplete information are valid starting points; DBS identifies the gaps.
The report explains what is known, the evidence behind each conclusion, the potential opportunity and what must happen next. Without actual pricing, findings are labeled Opportunity Identified, Requires Supplier Quote, Requires Engineering Review, Requires Freight Quote or Insufficient Information. No savings value is invented.
Documented reductions are separated by driver and reconciled to a quoted alternative under a stated quantity, delivery scope and functional basis. Quantity, production and freight effects must not be counted twice. Inventory and carrying-risk effects remain separate from delivered-unit costs.
Lower board weight, caliper, strength or structural integrity is never recommended simply for a cheaper quote. Depending on the proposed change, DBS may require samples, prototypes, compression or transit testing, production-line trials, food/contact validation or engineering review.
The reviewed report stays with your inquiry and customer account. Use it for supplier comparison, quote normalization, reorder planning and discussion of inventory or scheduled releases. Pricing, release terms and production remain subject to the existing quote and approval process.
