Research Methodology
Direct Box Supply Research & Evidence Standard
The controls that separate guidance, analysis, verified claims, and proprietary evidence
Material quantitative claims must be traceable, time-sensitive claims require review, forecasts must be labeled, and proprietary benchmarks require eligible data and documented methodology.
Core rules
The newsroom separates published external evidence, directly verified Direct Box Supply records, analysis, opinion, and forecast. A reader should be able to understand what supports a material claim and when it must be reviewed.
- Trace material quantitative claims to a source or eligible proprietary evidence
- Do not convert illustrative calculator outputs into market evidence
- Do not publish customer or supplier outcomes without eligible records and permission
- Label forecasts as forecasts
- Review time-sensitive claims by a stated date
Evidence strength
Sources are evaluated by authority, transparency, recency, applicability, and methodology. Directional commentary may inform an editorial candidate, but it cannot silently become verified factual evidence.
Proprietary evidence
A proprietary benchmark requires a defined sample, inclusion and exclusion rules, privacy and aggregation controls, calculation methods, limitations, revision policy, and human approval. No proprietary quantitative series is currently represented by this methodology page.
Corrections and withdrawal
When evidence changes, dependent claims are reviewed. A superseded or withdrawn claim remains available to the audit history but is not presented as current evidence.
