How Direct Box Supply Evaluates Packaging Landed Cost
A decision framework for comparing the full cost of a packaging order
The landed-cost framework separates recurring unit economics from first-order charges, inbound costs, quality exposure, inventory effects, and operating fit.
Purpose
A unit price is only one part of a packaging decision. Direct Box Supply uses a structured comparison so buyers can see which costs recur, which belong only to the first order, and which assumptions still need verification.
Cost categories
The model records supplier unit price, freight, tooling, setup, duties or tariffs, brokerage or import fees, inspection or testing, storage and handling, and any separately identified direct cost.

Comparability controls
A comparison is decision-useful only when the specification, quantity, destination, freight basis, pack-out, lead time, and commercial terms are sufficiently aligned. Missing inputs are shown as gaps rather than silently estimated.
