Your box is a valid starting point.

You do not need packaging terminology, board grades, a dieline, or manufacturing specifications. Photos, artwork, invoices, quotes, purchase orders, labels, dimensions, notes, a specification sheet, or just the physical box can start the review.

A manufacturer may reverse-engineer a box for its own factory. DBS develops a shared specification so multiple appropriate production routes can be evaluated against the same requirements.

1. Tell us what you have and what you want to improve; add available files privately after submitting.
2. DBS reviews the evidence and identifies missing specifications.
3. We confirm the necessary measurements, samples and engineering, then document the controlled specification.
4. We evaluate suitable suppliers and production routes and present options through the existing DBS quote and approval process.

What may need a closer look

• Photos can show structure and appearance, but cannot reliably establish every dimension, material or performance requirement.
• Measurements are needed to confirm size, fit and tolerances. A physical sample may be required when photos and files leave construction or material unclear.
• Material testing may be necessary when grade, strength, coatings or other properties cannot be verified from documented evidence.
• Supplier engineering may be required for structural details, manufacturing tolerances or conversion to another production process.
• Prototypes or production samples are recommended to validate fit, appearance and performance before production, and may be required for the project.

DBS confirms the required work, costs and next steps before proceeding. Your specification remains linked to your request and account for future quote comparisons, backup sourcing, cost analysis and controlled production changes. Approved orders continue into the existing reorder workflow.
